Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 1 November 2026

1. Scope and seller

These terms apply to every order you place on personalizedcomicbook.com. Personalized Comic Book is a brand of the company named below, which is your contract partner:

Lumond GmbH, Kolonnenstraße 8, 10827 Berlin, Germany, represented by its managing director Dor Porat. Commercial register: Amtsgericht Krefeld, HRB 18705. VAT ID: DE348104546. Email: [email protected].

Our offer is for consumers who are at least 18 years old. You will find all company details in the Imprint.

2. What we offer

We make personalized comic books for grown-ups. You upload photos of the people who will star in the comic (and, if you like, of pets or objects), answer a few questions about them and choose a genre, a story idea, a tone and an art style. The texts and pictures of your comic are then created automatically by AI software from what you gave us.

  • eBook: your comic book as digital content. You read it online on any device, can share it by private link and download it as a PDF. You need a current web browser and an internet connection.
  • Printed products, each made to order from your comic: hardcover comic book, coloring book, greeting card, canvas print and birthday calendar.

Every comic is unique. The illustrations are an artistic interpretation of your photos, not an exact likeness, and details can vary from panel to panel and page to page. Once your eBook is ready you can change the words on any page and have pages redrawn.

Printed colors can differ slightly from what you see on your screen.

3. How the contract is concluded

The products shown on the site are an invitation to order. You place a binding order by pressing the pay button. The contract is concluded when your payment is confirmed. We then send you an order confirmation by email. For a free eBook paid for with a gift credit, the contract is concluded when you press the create button.

Before you pay, you see a summary of your order and can go back to correct anything you entered. For an eBook this is the payment page at the end of the book creator. For printed products it is the cart with your delivery address.

You can conclude the contract in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Hebrew, Dutch, Polish, Czech, Danish, Estonian, Finnish, Hungarian, Swedish, Greek, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Norwegian, Croatian, Bulgarian, Slovenian, Lithuanian or Latvian. We store your order. You receive its details in the order confirmation email, and if you sign in you can see your orders on the Orders page. The current version of these terms is always available on this page.

4. Prices, discounts and payment

The prices shown on the site at the time of your order apply. They are final prices and include any VAT that applies. Prices are in euros, US dollars, Israeli shekels, Polish złoty, British pounds, Swiss francs, Norwegian kroner, Swedish kronor, Danish kroner, Czech koruna, Hungarian forints, Romanian lei or Canadian dollars: for an eBook this depends on the language of the site and on the country you visit it from (euros in European countries, Swiss francs in Switzerland on the English, German, French and Italian sites, British pounds in the United Kingdom on the English site, shekels on the Hebrew site, złoty on the Polish site, koruna on the Czech site, kroner on the Danish site, forints on the Hungarian site, kronor on the Swedish site, lei on the Romanian site, Norwegian kroner on the Norwegian site), for printed products on the delivery country (pounds for delivery to the United Kingdom, francs for delivery to Switzerland, kroner for delivery to Norway, kronor for delivery to Sweden, kroner for delivery to Denmark, koruna for delivery to Czechia, forints for delivery to Hungary, lei for delivery to Romania, Canadian dollars for delivery to Canada, shekels for delivery to Israel ordered on the Hebrew site, złoty for delivery to Poland ordered on the Polish site). For some delivery countries the payment page shows and charges the total in the local currency, converted at the exchange rate of the day. You always see the amount before you pay. PayPal does not take shekels: an order in shekels paid with PayPal is charged in US dollars, converted at the rate shown on the payment page before you pay. PayPal is not offered for orders in forints or lei.

The eBook costs €6.99, $7.99, ₪19.99, PLN 29.99, CHF 6.90, £6.99, CZK 179, DKK 59, HUF 2,690, SEK 89, RON 34.99 or NOK 89. If you later order the hardcover of that book, the amount you paid for the eBook is deducted from its price once.

Shipping is charged once per order and depends on the delivery country and, in some countries, on the number of hardcovers; the pricing page lists the price for each country, and the cart shows it before you order. In the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, the United States and Canada, shipping is free when the order contains 2 or more hardcovers. The third hardcover in an order is 50% off. Greeting cards, coloring books, canvas prints and birthday calendars are 20% off when a hardcover is in the same order. The cart shows shipping and all discounts before you order.

Gift link: if a friend orders a first eBook through your gift link, they get 50% off, and you receive a credit for one free eBook that is valid for 90 days.

In our apps the eBook costs the price shown in the App Store or on Google Play. The website prices and discounts above (including the gift link) do not apply to purchases in the apps (section 12).

Payment is handled on our pages by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Ireland). You can pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Klarna and, depending on your country, local payment methods. Payment is due when you order.

5. Your eBook

We start creating your eBook automatically right after your payment. It is usually ready within about 15 minutes. The page you land on after paying shows the comic as soon as it is ready, and the link is in your order confirmation email.

If your eBook is not ready within a reasonable time, write to [email protected]. We will create it again or refund your payment.

6. Printed products and delivery

We print exactly what you approve. Please check every page, words and pictures, before you order a printed product.

Every printed product is made for you after you order. Printing takes 3 to 10 working days, plus shipping time. We deliver to the address you enter, in the countries offered in the cart (currently 203 countries). Outside the European Union, the destination country may charge import duties, taxes or customs fees on delivery; they are not included in our prices and are paid by the recipient.

When your parcel ships, the tracking link appears on the Orders page.

7. Right of withdrawal

Consumers normally have 14 days to withdraw from a contract concluded online. For our products the law provides the following exceptions.

eBook: the eBook is digital content that is not supplied on a physical medium and is created to your specifications. When you pay, you expressly ask us to start right away and you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once we have started. As creation starts automatically right after payment, the right of withdrawal expires at that moment (§ 356 (5) BGB, Article 16 (m) of Directive 2011/83/EU). The payment page says this next to the pay button.

Printed products: hardcover comic books, coloring books, greeting cards, canvas prints and birthday calendars are made to your specifications. There is therefore no right of withdrawal for them (§ 312g (2) no. 1 BGB, Article 16 (c) of Directive 2011/83/EU).

If, in an exceptional case, we have not yet started creating your eBook, you can withdraw from the contract within 14 days without giving a reason. The period runs from the day the contract is concluded. To withdraw, send a clear statement (for example an email) to Lumond GmbH, Kolonnenstraße 8, 10827 Berlin, Germany, [email protected]. It is enough to send it before the period ends. You can use the model form below, but you do not have to.

If you withdraw, we refund all payments we received from you without delay and at the latest within 14 days of receiving your statement, by the same means of payment you used and at no charge to you.

Model withdrawal form: "To Lumond GmbH, Kolonnenstraße 8, 10827 Berlin, Germany, [email protected]: I hereby withdraw from the contract I concluded for the following digital content: (name of the product). Ordered on: (date). Name of the consumer: (name). Address of the consumer: (address). Date: (date)."

Your statutory rights in case of defects are not affected.

8. Defects and warranty

The statutory warranty rights for defects apply.

If a printed product arrives faulty or damaged, write to [email protected] and attach a photo. You will get a reprint or a refund.

9. Your photos and your comic

You confirm that you hold the rights to the photos and other content you upload, and that the people shown agree to appear in the comic. You may upload a photo of a minor only if you are their parent or guardian or have the permission of a parent or guardian. You may not upload unlawful content.

Our comics are for grown-ups and never go beyond PG-13. We may refuse an order, or leave out or change content, that is sexual, hateful or degrading, that shows real public figures, celebrities, politicians or brands, or that infringes the rights of others. If we cannot make your comic for this reason, we refund what you paid for it.

We use your photos and your answers only to create, show and deliver your comic and the products you order.

You may use your comic and your printed products for private purposes.

10. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under product liability law, and where we have given a guarantee or fraudulently concealed a defect.

In cases of slight negligence we are liable only if we breach an essential obligation of the contract, that is an obligation whose fulfillment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on which you may regularly rely. In that case our liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract.

Otherwise our liability is excluded. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

11. Applicable law and dispute resolution

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you habitually live.

We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (§ 36 VSBG).

12. Buying in our apps

In our apps for iOS and Android you buy the eBook as an in-app purchase through Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). The purchase is subject to the purchase terms of Apple or Google, which also process the payment. For the eBook itself (section 5) and everything else, these terms apply.

Refunds of an in-app purchase go through Apple or Google under their rules: for the App Store at reportaproblem.apple.com, for Google Play in the order history of your Google Play account. We cannot refund an in-app purchase ourselves.

Printed products are not sold in the apps. If you order them from an app, our website opens and you buy them there under these terms, with the payment methods of the website.

13. Final provisions

If a provision of these terms is or becomes invalid, the rest remains in force.

We may change these terms for future orders. The version published on this page at the time of your order applies to it.
